[By the time this happens Ken probably has gotten his hamster. There's a large cage in the room that wasn't there before Dipper ported out, and inside it are a couple of small round rodents. One of them is stubbornly trying to climb the outside of his wheel while the other is napping. A new addition to the Nonah Zoo.
On one day when Dipper is visiting, Ken takes a moment to add food to the hamsters' cage and gets up to join Dipper on the bean bag. Or try to, at least, before he plops down... then wiggles uncomfortably. And again.
And again until he slides off to sit on the floor, back leaning against the bag, and looks up at Dipper with a thoughtful frown.]
[Most of Dipper's attention is on his book, though he does distractedly try to make some space for Ken on the bean bag. When Ken slides off, he's still focused on his reading and thus, doesn't look up even when Ken actually speaks to him.]
Uh... No? We left the shrink ray back in the Shack.
I don't mean it like that. [He thinks after the fact that he must be so used to the Pines now, with how he didn't even think to react to the shrink ray, but for now he reaches up to poke Dipper's side.]
I mean, you grew bigger. You're too big for this room now.
[a giant, he means. but Ken scoots himself back up so he's perched on the bag besides Dipper. Ken's head definitely only comes up to Dipper's nose or something.]
I got sick a lot but you can never tell if it's Tartarus or lactose poisoning. Is it lactose poisoning if it's too much milk? Does milk even have a lethal component?
I did get stomachaches sometimes but I think if I was intolerant I'd have been even more sick so I guess not. It was all Tartarus. Because everything about that place was horrible. [It was dark and bloody and they ran a lot and fought a lot and kept shooting monsters out of their heads]

You make it sound like I'm a giant! I guess I must have had a growth spurt?
[He hasn't noticed much difference himself, besides hitting random corners and tripping over himself a bit more.]

[Dipper looks considering for a moment, before his smile turns a bit sly.]
...Maybe you've shrunk. I've heard that happens.

I'm actually starting to feel really self conscious of my height now.

I mean, too much of anything is bad for you. But I think you can only have a reaction to lactose if you're already lactose intolerant.
